Worship

At Woodlawn, we eagerly lift up offerings of praise to the Lord each week during corporate worship. We conduct God-centered services that are scripturally sound and founded on the love and grace of Christ.  It is our prayer that hearts will be transformed in the presence of God to find the freedom to worship Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23).

There are many ways to get involved in the worship ministry (see below).  If you have musical talent or ability in the technical or drama area, we hope you will consider joining us--but don’t make that your primary reason for involvement.  We are looking for people who are chasing after the things of God in their lives, who are passionate about His Word being life to them, and who are committed to sharing the love of Jesus through worship and the arts.

We look forward in joyous hope to the time we will praise God forever in glory.

Adult Worship Choir

  • Performs in worship services regularly
  • Presents annual Christmas and Easter programs
  • Rehearses every Sunday at 5:00 pm
  • No audition required
  • Everyone is welcome (high school age and above)

Praise Team Singers

  • Leads Sunday morning worship services
  • Teams of 3 -4 singers scheduled on a rotating basis
  • Rehearses every Sunday at 8:15 am
  • Weeknight rehearsals as needed
  • Audition required

Praise Band

  • Accompanies worship in contemporary services
  • Members scheduled on a rotating basis
  • Rehearses every Sunday at 8:15 am and Thursday at 6 pm
  • Audition required

Soloists & Instrumentalists

  • Provide special music in worship services
  • Scheduled as needed by the worship leader
  • Audition required

 

 

 

Sound, Stage, and Lighting

  • Operates the sound board and other equipment in the sound booth during rehearsals and worship services
  • Volunteers scheduled on a rotating basis
  • Training is provided but knowledge of the area is helpful

Computer

  • Operates ProPresenter slide program and sermon PowerPoint presentations during worship services
  • Scheduled on a rotating basis
  • Training is provided but knowledge of the area is helpful

Drama Team

  • Periodically provides dramatic presentations during worship services
  • Membership determined by the drama team leader
