Women of Woodlawn! is Woodlawn's women's ministry. Its goal is to help women grow spiritually and develop relationships with other women in the church and broader community. Activities and events that reach out to women who may need encouragement or just want to be more involved in Christian service are scheduled regularly. There are major events for all women to meet together throughout the year and smaller group events, like Girls’ Nights Out, several times a month. All activities, whether a Bible study, workshop, retreat, mentoring, or merely getting together for a night out, serve a vital need in the lives of women. We know that women need friends to laugh with, cry with, unload their burdens to, or just “hang out.” By participating in WOW! events, women are not only being ministered to but, through their love and friendship, finding doors of opportunity to minister to others.
The WOW! Ministry Team is led by a team of volunteers that currently includes Karen Carter, Tia Curry, Cheryl Elliott (team leader), Crystal Marcum, Linda Reid, and Georgia Sharpe.
